In conjunction with the Literary Guild of St. Simons Island, the Atlanta Writers Club (AWC) will sponsor a Writers Retreat Thursday, September 25 through Saturday, September 27 at the AW Jones Heritage Center on St. Simons. The event will be the second collaboration between the two groups and will feature guest writers as speakers, panel discussions, open writing periods, open mics, and lots of opportunity to share and discuss among participants. Watch this space and the Atlanta Writers Club website for updates and registration.

PLACES I'VE BEEN..

Saturday mornings in March, 2025 the Literary Guild of St. Simons offered workshops on the craft of writing centered around the theme of "show don't tell." Laura's presentation was on how to show, not tell, through diaogue. The workshops were held at the Marshes of Glynn Library, 530 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island, Georgia. November 6-9, 2024 Atlanta Writers Club Writers Retreat on St. Simons Island. Featured speakers included Wanda Lloyd, Mbinguni, and Jonathan Rabb. Laura joined a panel with George Weinstein, Kim Conrey, and Melinda Farris on Friday morning, November 8 to discuss different paths to publishing.
